BIO

 

Emily Mode is a media artist living in New York.  She completed her undergraduate work at Hampshire College and received her MFA from Yale University. She has received funding from The Foundation for Contemporary Arts and an IFP- NYSCA grant.  In 2006 her installation "Qualia" was shown at Roebling Hall Art Gallery and Artists Space in New York City.  Her single channel video "Qualia Diaries" was completed in the spring of 2009.  The video is an official 2009 selection for The Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival (Germany), The Athens International Film Festival (US), The Black Maria Film and Video Festival (US) - where it won a Jury's Choice First prize, and is an official 2010 selection for The Philadelphia Medical Film Symposium and The Other Film Festival at The Melbourn Museum (Australia).

David Reed Studio Worked in professional art production studio on paintings sold and exhibitted in New York and Internationally for Artist David Reed. 1999-2002
OH Productions Indipendent Documentary Company. Projects would receive ITVS and Rockefeller Foundation funds, enter the film/video collection of The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and win the National Media Owl Award. Worked on shows broadcast on PBS and HBO. 1995-1999
